Lee Holloway doesn't exactly have all the cards on her side when she applies for a job as a secretary for lawyer E. Edward Grey. First, she's only recently been released from the psychiatric hospital where she was committed. Second, after only one day spent with a narrow-minded and stifling family, she's once again succumbed to her penchant for self-mutilation. Despite never having held a job in her life, Lee is hired by Mr. Grey anyway. At first, her work is mundane. But soon, between typing, making coffee, and filing files, a strange relationship develops between Lee and Mr. Grey. This affair is discovered by Lee's family and by Peter, her occasional boyfriend...
